Book dealers from around the world are invited to apply to sell books on AntiquarianAuctions.co.za.

Criteria

To sell books on AntiquarianAuctions.co.za sellers must be a member of a recognised book trade association or vetted by us. This ensures lots are described accurately and maintains a high standard of content on the site.

Fees

Sellers are charged $1 per lot uploaded to the auction and a 8% commission on the final selling price. Sellers will receive an invoice two weeks from the end of the auction. Payment is expected on receipt of invoice.

How to register as a seller

To register as a seller you must first be registered as a buyer. Once your buyer's account has been activated and you have logged in click on the Seller's registration link at the top of the My Profile page. Once you have completed and submitted the form you will be contacted once your account is activated.

Uploading lots

  1. To upload lots to the next auction sellers must login with there username and password.
  2. Once logged in click on the 'My Profile' link at the top of the screen and then on 'Upload Lots' and finally on 'Add new lot'.
  3. Fill in the details and the description of the book. Author, title, category, reserve and estimate are required. Any of the other fields left out will not be displayed.
  4. Once you are happy with your description click the submit button to add the lot. You will then be taken to a page to upload pictures.
  5. To add pictures use the browse button to find the picture on you computer. As soon as you push the open button the picture will begin uploading.
  6. Once the picture has finished uploading a small thumbnail will appear. To upload another picture select the browse button and repeat the process.
  7. If you would like to alter the order the images appear simply drag and drop the pictures into the desired position. The first image will always be the thumbnail.
  8. When you have finished uploading pictures for a lot click on the ‘Finish’ button and you will be taken to a list of all the books which you have in the current auction. From this list you can edit your lots, manage your images, delete lots and preview your lots.

Note: Thumbnails are no longer required and are now generated automatically. The greatest dimension of an image should not exceed 800 pixels and should be less than 150KB.
